Ode to Gymboree

Oh how I love you, Gymboree. Not just do you have adorable clothes, they seem to last forever. And with this I bring you the new Easter styles! There will be a Baby Sale to look forward to February. Now I just need to start sweet-talking daddy. The boy stuff is to die for!

I am quite sure I am biased

but I think my kid is super cute. This is video shot tonight. Before bed, Ryan has been dragging out this huge See and Find type of book. I love it because he is doing so great naming everything. BU there is one page we get stuck on every time for quite awhile. It's a page with a birthday cake on it. If you now Ryan pretty well, you know he loves singing Happy Birthday just as much as he loves the cake that accompanies it. So, enjoy. And yes, it is the Ryan show. I turn around the viewfinder so he can see himself. He loves that. Such a narcissist at a young age.

Friday Funday?

Today I have the energy to work. Maybe it's the new workspace I have created in Ryan's play area. I did this Wednesday actually and I am guessing the newness of mommy being with him all the time got him very excited. So, working was difficult to say the least. I was spun around in the chair numerous times, jumped on, tickled...I can't count how many times he accidentally shut down the computer. It was fun. haha But yesterday, working got a little easier. I got him out of the house to play at the park. All was good. Today is even better. Yes, he has a cold and I am fighting one but work has been pleasurable today, if one can even say that. I am being a better mommy and a better employee today. So, that makes me happy. And when mama is happy,so is everyone else. Allen will be enjoying a movie tonight. I will be enjoying some me time. Now if only I could get that political calls to stop. Then all would be right with the world.

A Little Update on Us

Most of you know the trials that we endured last year with losing a baby, surgery after surgery and now trying again with no success so far. 2008 handed us a new (and crappy) insurance plan. I won't go into the crappy details but basically this is where we sit. And the decision we are having to make. We will only be able to try to conceive another child for 3 months (basically putting us in for a October-December baby). And if that doesn't work, we will have to hold off again until October/November. That will be frustrating to say the least. Insurance is frustrating. Yet I know God is much bigger than Blue Cross Blue Shield. SO, I am trying to keep my eyes upward and my fingers crossed.

Could it be?

Allen and I have been having lots of discussions on whether or not Ryan will be ready for the 3 year old preschool class next year. Mostly because I naturally worry about everything. And this is the potty-training worry. He has to be potty-trained to be in the 3's. He hasn't even given me an indication that he is even ready to start trying. I think he is happy as a clam to sit in his own feces. Really, I do. Well, until today...

This is the note we got from preschool, which was accompanying my son, in a completely different outfit on than what I dressed him in. So, that would be a YAY! He pee-peed in the potty for the first time today, well and apparently all over himself. And even better is that his diaper was dry when he asked to go pee-pee. So maybe, just maybe he is getting it.

Future Barber?

Umm, I hardly think that will be Ryan's future. Besides the end product, the whole process is a little wild and crazy for most folks. And please note that a. I know have a freakin' huge smile going on. and 2.I did his hair first (inserting my own little bow)
