So, it is actually almost a week before Erin arrives via c-section. We are still in minor chaos in the home and not everything has found a permanent place. However, Goodwill got a sizable donation from us on 12/31/08. So, while I was trying to figure out where everything can go (chanting attic here) I was getting a bit freaked out that I then have to clean my house top to bottom. The task would not be that daunting if I didn't have to work and take care of Ryan as well. Maybe to some of you superhero women, you are thinking, "Whatever. That is so easy!" I am not a superhero, nor am I a clean freak or even remotely organized. I have always wished that I were. It would make my life easier (I think).
So, I have done the unthinkable. I have hired a maid, with Allen's blessing, to clean the house from top to bottom on Friday. It's a first for me. I am sure I will feel spoiled, once I get over the embarrassment and horror. All I want is a clean house for my family to arrive in and bring a baby home to. And I know there is no way I will find this time and energy to do so. So, bring it on, Daniella. Bring on the cleaners, mops, etc. I am anxiously awaiting your arrival. Maybe not as much as Erin's but pretty darn close.
